More Than project.
A Re-Presentation.
We created BLK WINS to reclaim the stories we weren’t taught—and share them in a way that speaks to now.
About Us

BLK WINS is a traveling docu-series and nonprofit media project re-presenting American Black history—centered on Black youth, but made for everyone.
We uncover stories that textbooks left out and spotlight the triumphs, not just the tragedies. By going directly to the places where history happened and speaking with those who lived it—elders, community leaders, and historians—we’re bringing the truth forward with pride, clarity, and cultural relevance.
We don’t just want people to learn—we want them to connect. To feel proud. To feel seen.

The Team
We’re not historians. We’re not professors.
We’re creatives, storytellers, and researchers who saw a gap—and decided to fill it using the tools we already had. We built BLK WINS because we knew that Black youth needed more than the watered-down history we were given. And we knew others did too.
This is who we are:
President, Host
Jazmyn Pratt

Based in Los Angeles, Jazmyn is a seasoned voice in media who began her journey as a radio and podcast host before bringing her storytelling to the screen. With a gift for connecting with people and a passion for truth-telling, she uses her platform to uncover narratives that help Black youth—and the broader community—see themselves more clearly in history. Jazmyn’s work bridges generations and mediums, always grounded in purpose and presence.
Film Maker
Aaron Pratt

Based in Seattle, Aaron is a filmmaker and creative strategist who leads the direction and production of BLK WINS. With a background in branding, cinematography, and storytelling across commercial and short film projects, he brings vision, precision, and a passion for legacy-building to every episode. His mission: to use what he's learned to leave a lasting impact on the next generation of Black youth.
Script-Writer
Chris Lee-Hill

Chris is a Seattle-based marketing and museum professional with a passion for the intersection of Black identity and American cultural legacy. With a background in the arts and a side career as a DJ, Chris brings rhythm, structure, and cultural fluency to the storytelling process. He’s focused on ensuring that the future of history is rooted in truth, equity, and intentionality.
Illustrator, Social Media
Perry Porter

Perry is a Las Vegas–based visual artist and songwriter originally from Tacoma, WA. Working primarily in watercolor, his art blends the Black experience with surreal, imaginative elements.
His work is a celebration of beauty, power, and softness, often centering Black women as icons of strength and grace. He recently completed an artist residency at the Amazon Spheres and continues to shape culture through both gallery work and public art.
The Time is Now!

Why Now?
Our Process
In a time when Black history is being erased from classrooms and misrepresented in headlines, telling these stories has never been more urgent.
BLK WINS exists to protect, amplify, and pass down what was meant to be forgotten—because Black history isn’t a side note in America’s story. It is the story.
We hit the road and go straight to the source—capturing interviews on location with the people who’ve carried these stories forward.
Our episodes blend original research, oral histories, and rich visuals to create something that’s not just informative, but alive.
This is what history feels like when it’s told by the people who lived it.
